ANZCRL's 6th edition of the Bathurst 1000 using the Ford Falcon V8 Supercar is shaping up to be one of the hottest 1000 ever contested over the previous 5 year history.
The race will see drivers paired up together per car entry to see if they can etch their names into the ANZCRL history of the mountain classic. There will be 4 sessions so you must use a co-driver during the race for at least one session, using the same race car number and livery for both nominated drivers in your sign up. Changes to your team can be made up until Thursday 28th October AEDT.
Late rule change relating to co-drivers: this years event has been opened up for solo drivers but they must commit to completing the full 161 laps on Sunday.

Race position at the end of each session will determine starting position for the next session. If you fall a lap down or more, you will need to wait on the grass area left of pit exit until the number of laps down from previous session is reached (NOTE no driver will have to wait more than 6 laps down in total) and then you can drive off carefully joining the race up mountain straight once the leader has passed you. If the leading pack is following close to one another it is the driver re-joining the race responsibility to join the track without effecting the leaders so its suggested to used your look behind button and join the race after the battle pack has passed.
For this event maximum of 12 drivers in the top lobby for session 1 only and then the lobbies will be organised to have no more than 12 in each lobby. Your end race time duration and total laps after the 1st session will determine your lobby place in the 2nd and remaining sessions between the 2 lobbies.
All race times and completed laps will be used to determine which lobbies drivers are sorted into after each following session, so the quickest drivers on the lead or closest to the lead lap will be grouped together to fight for the win in the final session on Sunday.
There will be no safety cars called during race sessions.
NOTE Standing start for all race sessions, but for sessions 2,3 & 4 the standing start is only for the organisation of a formation lap into a single file restart from results of the previous race session. Think of this as a safety car intervention.
SESSIONS 2 to 4 RESTART PROCEDURE
Sessions 2, 3 & 4 will all start as a random standing start grid. At the green light all cars on the lead lap will head off for 1 formation lap to get into race restart order from previous race results.
Cars that are laps down will move off the grid and line up on the grass left of pit exit along mountain straight in order with the leading car being the car least laps down from race leader.
Once the lead cars are in single file formation, the leader has control of the race once exiting the chase and can restart the race anywhere from the chase to the starting line. NOTE: There is to be no overtaking until passing the start finish line, overlapping is allowed after the final corner only.
Lapped cars are to wait until the leaders have passed and put the car down the same amount of laps down from previous session. (example: cars that are only 1 lap down only have to wait on the pit exit grass area during the formation lap and can then restart on the actual race restart as soon as leaders have put them the lap down, but must wait until its safe to rejoin up mountain straight so this may mean waiting for the full field to pass. It is up to the car rejoining not to interfere with the restarting pack remembering tyres will be far from operating temperatures.)
Lobby 2 will have race laps of 40 (41 for the final session) reduced based on the leading car of the 2nd lobby total laps down from the overall race leader. Example: leading car from lobby 2 is 3 laps down from overall race leader, the number of race laps will be 37 (38 for the final session). Restart will be the same as lobby 1 with a formation lap, only difference would be if the leading car in lobby 2 was the only car 3 laps down and all other cars in the lobby were more than 3 laps down, the leading car would not need to do a formation lap and start on the green with remaining lapped cars to line up on the grass from pit exit on mountain straight waiting to restart the race the same as lobby 1. NOTE: cars in lobby 2 only need to wait to be lapped the number of laps behind the actual lead car of lobby 2, not actual overall race leader.

IMPORTANT RULE CHANGE FOR 2021 - Each car's fuel level will be recorded starting with the leader of the race down in order to last place on the last lap of session 1, 2 & 3 during the broadcast. That amount of fuel will be published before the start of the next session and drivers in each car must save the same amount of fuel into their saved setup for the start of the next session. If a driver is found to have not entered the right amount of fuel at the start of the session a 2 minute penalty end of race session will be applied. If a car finished with less than 8 litres of fuel, the minimum amount of fuel to start the next session will be set at 8 litres to enable the car to do the 1st lap and pit the next lap.
We pride ourselves on racing clean and following proper racing etiquette in regards to giving space and overtaking cleanly. Blocking will not be tolerated. If you make a mistake, please try to redress on circuit. Do not complain about race incidents during the event and concentrate moving on.
